Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Jet Pump AC Wet Servicing

High-pressure jet wet servicing is the signature bread-and-butter offering of modern AC service workshops. Executing it cleanly without staining expensive customer wallpaper or short-circuiting indoor PCBs requires a strict SOP.

Step 1: Electrical Isolation and Plastic Shielding

Turn off main MCB. Remove front panel and filters. Crucial: Cover the indoor PCB box, display panel, and swing motor completely with waterproof plastic wrap to prevent moisture damage.

Step 2: Installing the Waterproof Service Jacket / Wash Bag

Secure a professional AC wash bag with tight elastic around the indoor unit chassis, directing the drainage hose into a 20-liter bucket. Inspect seal before turning on water.

Step 3: Alkaline Coil Cleaner Application & Dwell Time

Spray non-acidic aluminum coil cleaner across the evaporator coil and blower wheel. Allow 5 minutes dwell time to dissolve stubborn grease, nicotine, and fungal mold.

Step 4: High-Pressure Water Jet Rinsing (70-100 PSI)

Adjust jet nozzle to fan spray (never pinpoint jet, which bends delicate aluminum fins). Thoroughly rinse until drainage water runs crystal clear.

Step 5: Blower Wheel Drying and Airflow Verification

Wipe chassis dry, remove wash bag, reassemble panels, restore power, and verify smooth blower rotation and clean odor-free airflow.
